The Rowan Teaching Connection's Spring 2021 Conference about Academic Integrity
Part 1: Academic Integrity Violations and PREVENTION Strategies
Friday, April 9th from 9:30 to 11:00 am
Geared toward both cheating and plagiarism, this session will begin with an introduction that answers the question, "Why do we need to have this conversation?"
Next is a presentation, "Building a Culture of Trust," by Allison Kelly, PhD., lecturer in the Chemistry/Biochemistry Department. Allison will point out that prevention strategies are the first step, and will share conversations she's had with students about learning, growth mindset, and where she draws the line.
Following this, the RTC steering committee will lead concurrent breakout room sessions featuring topics such as cheating, plagiarism, faculty bias, and the use of proctoring software (is it the solution?).
